The Snow that wouldn't stop!

We have had 4 days now of straight lake effect, which we normally don't get. It was ridiculous! Meg had no school one day, and 2 delays. Gavin had no school for 3 straight days. Aaron snowblowed a total of 10 times. Yikes!

Let the Countdown Begin!

Look out Disney..here comes the Johnston's!

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We are not getting a real tree this year due to going to Disney for Christmas, but luckily Grandma and Papa Emmer get a real tree so the boys can experience it. They enjoyed it for about 5 minutes, then it was too cold and they wanted to go the candy store that they saw on the way there! The priorities of a 4 year old! This he must have inherited from his father, because his mother loves decorating and Christmas trees so much that she put ours up (not just one, but 2) on Veteran's Day.

Jake at The Bouncy House

Gingerbread House!

Gavin, Jake and their friend Darren made gingerbread houses at a community event. Luckily, Darren's mom was there to help us...this is clearly not "our thing." Arts and Crafts scare us. Gavin managed to make a decent one, and Jake, well he had fun, and that is all that matters! His looks like (and I quote from his father) "looks like the trailer trash gingerbread house."

The bottom one is Gavin's house and the pic in the middle is of Gavin and Darren in their school spirit Friday shirts!

The Army Team, The Army Team!

We brought the kids to the Army-Air Force football game. They officially have "Army Fever". Jake even let us get his face painted camo. Future cadets, Class of 2028 and 2029!

Aaron, wondering what could have been of his West Point Career...stupid asthma as a kid!

The Borodino Pancake Breakfast

In honor of Grandparents day (and to thank Grandma for babysitting last night), we went out to breakfast at the famous Borodino Fire Dept. Pancake breakfast. It lived up to the reputation! What a fun way to start out the day!

First Day of UPK

Gavin's first day of UPK. He got a little teary-eyed on the bus. It was also Mommy's first day of school, so she wasn't there to watch. (however, that may have been a good thing as the tears from both Gav and Mommy would have made it worse). Gavin is now a pro at riding the bus, and proudly announces, "I didn't cry today!"
